The Head Start of Lane County Equity/Diversity Team will have its first meeting in October. The team has been meeting on the 4th Wednesday of the month from 3:30-5:00.(Time subject to change depending on team input). All are welcome to participate with supervisor approval. The charter for the team is attached.
This team of champions serve as a resource for the agency’s facilitated discussion and/or training on topics aimed at interrupting institutional racism and instead strive to build systems of equity and inclusion. We have monthly meetings that often center around a particular book, provide a safe (although often uncomfortable) space to explore, advocate, debrief, learn, reflect, and grow.
