The grant process took two months to complete (although it felt more like 6 months). It took the expertise of the consultants and directors to describe the magnitude of services, partnerships, and the staff that make HSOLC what it is today.

The photos are one of several days working in the boardroom to read, edit and write narrative. On Friday, Marci, Sami and Tim must have known it was going to be  long day – needing the comfort of plaid shirts to keep them warm and comfy as they plowed through pages of edits and rewrites! The Board of Directors and Policy Council have to approve the application, which they did at their October meetings. A draft copy was available for their review before submitting, Lois Pribbles, Board member is quoted as saying “I just wanted to say your work on this grant is really impressive, very thorough and well done–great job! ”

We now wait until 2020 to hear the results. Until then all hands on deck for counting kids, attendance matters and documentation is proof that children make gains while at HSOLC.
