The Oregon Head Start Association Scholarship forms are available at ohsa.net or ask your Family Support Coordinator or click here for a complete pack.
Dates to be aware of:
- Monday March 20, 2023 for the Scholarship Committee Review and Agency Signature
- Wednesday, May 3 by 2:00pm. Final Applications due the first day of the May State Meeting. Give copies to HSOLC State Representatives to deliver.
- Monday April 10, 2023. If mailing in, applications are due two weeks in advance of the May State meeting. Mail to:

ESSAYS
Two, one page essays are part of the OHSA Scholarship application.
- Head Start Experience. How long have you been in Head Start and how has the program impacted your life?
- Goals & Aspirations. Describe how furthering your education will help you achieve your goals and how Head Start played a role in your education.

Reference Letters
Three, typed reference letters are needed from three different people:
- Teacher or Supervisor
- Personal
- Community Member
On the top right, label each reference letter with the type of reference it is.
It’s always better to get more reference letters and pick the best to include in the scholarship application pack.
