Silvia is a kindergarten teacher from Argentina. She moved to the U.S. 23 years ago. She worked for Head Start in Jackson, WY for 9 years. then moved to Oregon with her family and has been working for Head Start of Lane County for 10 years.
Silvia has experienced many different roles in our Agency. Head Teacher, Family Support Interpreter, Teaching Parenting Classes, Assistant Regional Manager, and now Regional Manager for Region 4.
Silvia knows that we have a big responsibility and has a great commitment to her profession. When Silvia went to school, she knew that she wanted to teach preschool kids. Silvia says, “You can learn from their perspective; imagination is unlimited, and play is the best part of being a child.”
She decided that she wanted to play and learn with them. Now in a management role, she supports teachers, kids, and families at the UO, Charlemagne, Edison and Florence classrooms.
In her free time, Silvia loves the company of her family and exploring new places.
