The Training Committee is developing a new parent volunteer employment training program called “SEEKERS”. This program could lead parents to become sub associate teachers. Interested in hearing more? Seek out your Training committee rep.

Teacher quality dollars have been used up for the 2014-2015 year! Kudos to staff who took advantage of this funding stream to further their higher education. Funds will become available again in the 2015-2016 program year. Speak with Mary-Margaret Reynolds if interested in learning more about Teacher Quality Dollars and how to access it.

We learned that professional development goal setting will now be an on-line interactive process that promotes reflective and interactive supervision.

The March All Staff was well received from the location to the food to the info tables. Business could have been less but the overall feeling was positive.

The diversity training plan has two minds at the wheel – one is geared towards workplace diversity while the other is classroom focused and working with children and families. How the committee merges these two thoughts into a working plan will be the focus for the upcoming year with the goal of starting the diversity training plan in January 2016.

The Training committee has one one meeting left, Thursday May 7 from 8:45-10:15 in the boardroom.
