On my last visit to McCornack I dropped off the beautiful knit caps donated to us through the Caps for Kids program. Every year community volunteers knit caps which are collected by Mona Rummel and her crew at Soft Horizons Fibre. Head Start and other local non-profits are sent the caps each year just in time for the nippy weather.
The McCornack PM kiddos were given their hats after I left, but fortunately Mirena and Syndee were there to capture some moments in time. The kids were all smiles when they got their colorful caps. They even decided to leave them on when they ate lunch!
The whimsical caps weren’t the only rich decor in the classroom that day. McCornack AM had the childrens’ Harold and the Purple Crayon artwork on display brightening up the classroom and showcasing some of the magic that happens when talented teachers and enthusiastic children spend time together.
