Good afternoon!

Many of you were able to go to your classroom to pick up your personal belongings and daydream a bit about when you will return. Thanks RM’s and Facilities for humaning the sites.  Educational packets were all delivered to all families who requested them. Thanks to the good people of the Packets team and to the Drivers who delivered them.

Region 7 has been enjoying their virtual visits and enjoyed seeing happy little faces on line. A few teachers virtually worked with children to make smoothies in the kitchen!  Some families are completing TSGold activities and sending the documentation to their teacher, while others had too much activity in the home to follow through.   Throughout the Agency, many of you are enjoying reading favorite books to children as well as providing a listening ear to parents.  I have a few days where I would like a virtual home visit by a kind person….!   You are making a positive difference for the individuals you connect with.  Keep up the joyful work!

Early Head Start teachers know they are making a difference when they drop off diapers and thermometers to families.  I hear many staff really miss seeing the  little students, as the babies and toddlers really do change and grow so quickly!

Family Support Coordinators have a resource within Food For Lane County to access culturally responsive food that they can distribute to families.

Welcome to May! We cannot predict the future. We must continue to embrace our current state, even the irritations and discomfort, as we prepare for what we might face in the days ahead. I wish you all good health and a positive attitude.  Please remember if you are struggling to reach out to your manager, your friends, and the available community resources.
