Federal Programs Ending

All pandemic-related federal benefit programs end on September 4. This means that benefits will stop for people receiving Pandemic Unemployment Assistance (PUA), Pandemic Emergency Unemployment Compensation (PEUC), Mixed Earner Unemployment Compensation (MEUC), or Federal Pandemic Unemployment Compensation (FPUC) benefits. Even if you have a positive PUA or PEUC balance, you may not receive benefits for weeks that occur after the program expires.

If you are receiving regular Unemployment Insurance (UI) benefits now, you may see a reduction in the amount you receive each week for weeks after September 4 due to the extra $300 weekly FPUC program and the $100 weekly MEUC program benefit amount ending. For additional support, check out the Oregon Employment Department’s resources webpage with links to services or financial resources that may help you.

Overpayment Waivers

Many Oregonians continue to face financial hardships as the economy reopens. The Oregon Employment Department (OED) is offering forgiveness of overpayments where possible by waiving benefits you would otherwise have to pay back.

If you have received an overpayment notice, OED wants to help you avoid paying it back. You can request a waiver to see if you are eligible to have your overpayment waived. It is easy to do, so request a waiver now.
