Region 1 – Brattain 1AM (91%)

The Agency wide percentage did not improve, in fact, it fell below the allowed limit. The minimum attendance percentage is 85%. For February the average attendance percentage is 84%. When the rate falls below the 85% we have to report to the Office of Head Start/Region X what the reasons are and waht the plan is to increase attendance. I asked PC members why they thought the attendance average does not improve and they offered:
~ Family values have to change
~ Expectations have to be set now
~ Offer resources / develop phone trees
~ Regions (like Region 2) give out monthly attendance awards
~ Share Parent stories of the struggles, the changes made and the outcome now. These stories hold lots of value and are used in many ways. Parent stories are valuable to me always!
