This training is an introduction to the Creating Connections classroom curriculum. We will give a brief history of the curriculum, and present materials included to conduct activities in the classroom as well as planning and facilitation guides. During our time together we will be working through one classroom activity together. Time will be spent presenting physical materials, power point presentation, videos, polls, as well as a group TEAMS activity.

This training will discuss numerous ways to engage children and families virtually, while simultaneously getting the TS documentation we all need! It will go over TS reports that are helpful with planning activities, give numerous examples of ways to "pack in" TS objectives into routine activities, and give multiple resources for free and engaging activities. Region 8 video examples will be shared.

For teachers new to the Second Step curriculum, we will review how Second Step helps children  develop executive function, self-regulation, and social emotional skills and how to implement the curriculum.  We will also take a peek at some of the digital resources available to support At Home Learning.

This training will cover what boundaries are, the topic of dual relationships, boundary crossings vs. boundary violations, emotional boundaries, HS policies on boundaries, and guidelines for work/moving forward.  We will have several opportunities for discussion in break out rooms.

Communication with the heart is a quick dive into foundational communication skills that can serve you in any area of life. In this workshop we illuminate skills which will help cultivate productive conversations. We will discuss communication using self-awareness, empathy, active listening, and I statements. These skills will be practiced through group activities and personal reflections.
