WHAT: Trauma Informed Oregon is excited to be able to provide this free foundational training in the Tri-County area. To understand the benefits of a trauma informed system it is necessary to understand how trauma impacts individuals and families. Participants will learn about:

What trauma informed care is (and is not), the impact of acute and complex trauma on accessing and engaging in services,how service systems, unknowingly, re-traumatize/activate survivors of complex trauma, and Trauma Informed Oregon and efforts around the state.

TRAINER: Mandy Davis, LCSW, PhD, Co-Director of Trauma Informed Oregon

WHO: This trauma informed care 101 training is relevant for staff in organizations that provide educational, healthcare, housing, welfare, early childhood, judicial, community and mental health services, and for people with lived experience who use these systems. All staff are encouraged to come including direct service providers, management, and office support staff who have not had any trauma informed care training.

3 free CEUs will be offered for attendees.

This training will be followed by a Trauma Informed Oregon implementation forum in the afternoon from 1:00-4:30pm that will focus on current efforts, challenges, and innovations in applying trauma informed care. It will be catered to organizations that are interested in the process of implementing trauma informed care.
