Nancy Latini submitted her resignation last week and her final day in the office was Friday. While Nancy’s departure will impact all of ODE, we particularly wanted to reach out to Student Learning and Partnership staff at this time of transition. Please know that the work you do is incredibly important and highly valued. We know that you will keep the vital work moving forward through this time of transition and beyond.

Petrea Hagen-Gilden will be joining ODE as the Interim Assistant Superintendent of Student Learning and Partnerships beginning this Wednesday. Petrea has a strong background in special education and served as SLP’s Assistant Supt. in 1996. Prior to that role she served as both an Education Program Specialist and then a Director in SLP. Most recently, Petrea served as the Special Education Director at Tigard-Tualatin. Please join us in welcoming Petrea this week.

This has been a tumultuous few months and we want to thank everyone for their dedication, hard work, and commitment to the work before us. What you do makes a real difference to our schools, districts, and, most importantly, our students. Keep up the good work!
