A Bammy Award nomination is meaningful recognition that matters. Bammy nominations are made by the Academy of Education Arts and Sciences International, comprised of very accomplished, respected and recognized education leaders. The aggregate achievements and contributions of the Academy’s members makes recognition by this group a substantive and unparalleled honor to be highly valued, coveted and respected across the education community and beyond.

The Educator’s Voice Award honorees are chosen by the online education community through votes cast on the Bammy Awards web site. We are pleased to nominate Val Hayes, Health Consultant.

Valerie monitors the health records and concerns for 1080 Head Start and Early Head Start children. This year, we have three four year old children who have been identified as having diabetes. Valerie, who is an RN, has works with each family, as well as monitoring their blood sugar daily at the center. Valerie offers a strong level of support and education for many HS families who are experiencing health challenges with their children. Valerie is also working with the Lane County, FEMA and Red Cross to help our agency, and HS families understand and practice how to respond to emergencies.
